If you grew up around Aynor, you probably remember when downtown wasn't just a place to drive through—it was where people gathered.
One of those nights was the very first Aynor Harvest Hoe Down, when Doris Koon brought the community together on 8th Avenue. A band played from a trailer. Neighbors danced in the street. Kids ran around until they wore themselves out. Nobody was in a hurry to go home.
That’s the kind of evening we want to bring back.
On Thursday, October 8, we’re closing a block of 8th Avenue and turning it into Downtown Aynor’s biggest dinner table.
Well… maybe not one table. But one place where everyone can gather.
You’ll find rows of food trucks serving everything from burgers and barbecue to sweet treats, live music from Jamie Lynn & Carolina Sunset, a Kid Zone for the little ones, and plenty of room to pull up a chair and enjoy the evening.
Speaking of chairs…Bring yours.
Seriously. Bring a lawn chair, grab dinner from your favorite food truck, find a spot on 8th Avenue, and stay awhile. Catch up with old friends, meet someone new, listen to great music, and enjoy a night that reminds us why we love living here.
