Membership Spotlight: Horry County Council on Aging

For more than 50 years, Horry County Council on Aging has been helping seniors throughout our community remain active, independent, and connected.

Founded in 1975, Horry County Council on Aging (HCCOA) is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created in accordance with the Older Americans Act of 1965. Their mission is to provide services and programs that allow senior citizens to live independent, meaningful, and dignified lives in their own homes and communities for as long as possible.

HCCOA offers a wide range of services designed to support seniors and their families, including meal assistance, transportation, in-home services, housekeeping assistance, wellness programs, and social activities. Their goal is simple: to keep seniors healthy, active, and involved in the community.

One of the many ways they accomplish this is through their network of senior centers strategically located throughout Horry County, including the Aynor Senior Center located at:

The Aynor Senior Center provides a welcoming place where local seniors can enjoy fellowship, healthy meals, educational opportunities, and a variety of planned activities. Horry County Council on Aging believes that every senior deserves access to the information, resources, and support needed to live safely and independently. Their vision is a community where senior citizens have access to programs and services that promote individual choice, healthy living, and continued involvement in community life.
