Membership Spotlight: Horry Telephone Cooperative (HTC)

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to spotlight a company that has been keeping our communities connected for generations — Horry Telephone Cooperative, better known as HTC.

Connecting Our Communities Since 1952

Founded in 1952, HTC has grown to become the nation’s largest telecommunications cooperative, serving communities throughout Horry, Georgetown, and Marion counties.

And while technology has changed quite a bit since 1952, HTC’s focus on connecting the people and businesses of our area has remained at the heart of what they do.

Today, their extensive fiber network helps connect homes, businesses, and rural communities throughout our region.

A Lot More Than Telephone

The word Telephone may still be in the name, but HTC has come a long way since the days of simply connecting a phone call.

Their services include:

🌐 High-speed fiber internet
📱 Mobile services
📺 Video services
🏠 Home security & automation
☎️ Digital phone services
💼 Residential & business solutions

From streaming at home and running a business to protecting your property and keeping your family connected, HTC provides technology designed for the way our communities live and work today.

Local. Member-Owned. Cooperative.

One thing that makes HTC different is its cooperative structure.

Rather than operating as a traditional commercial corporation, HTC is member-owned. That cooperative model keeps its members and the communities it serves at the center of the organization.

For a rural area like ours, reliable connectivity is more than a convenience. It helps local businesses operate, students learn, families stay connected, and communities grow.

Local Support When You Need It

HTC also provides 24/7 technical support, giving customers access to assistance when connection problems don’t exactly wait for regular business hours.

🛠️ 24/7 Technical Support: 843-365-2186
📞 Customer Service: 843-369-7399

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to have Horry Telephone Cooperative as a Chamber member and appreciates HTC’s continued investment in the technology and connectivity that help move our businesses and communities forward.

From telephone lines to fiber lines — HTC has been connecting our communities since 1952.

Aynor Building supply spotlight

Membership Spotlight – Aynor Building Supply

Celebrating 50 Years of Building, Serving & Growing with Aynor

Some businesses sell supplies. Others become part of the foundation of a community.

This year, Aynor Building Supply, Inc. is celebrating 50 years in business — five decades of serving Aynor, supporting local projects, and carrying on a family tradition that began in 1976.

A Family Legacy Built Together

Aynor Building Supply was founded in 1976 by the late Kennith “Kenny” Gardner Johnson and Mrs. Patsy R. Johnson. Together, they built more than a business — they created a family legacy that would become a familiar and trusted part of the Aynor community.

With the recent passing of Mrs. Patsy, this 50th anniversary carries even more meaning. It’s an opportunity to celebrate not only an incredible business milestone, but also the two people who started it all and the legacy they leave behind.

Today, their sons Timmy Johnson and Craig Johnson, along with their wives Regina and Debbie, continue what Kenny and Patsy began.

Fifty years later, it’s still local. Still family-owned. And still serving Aynor.

More Than Lumber & Hardware

Located at 737 Elm Street, Aynor Building Supply is an independently owned and operated Ace Hardware dealer, combining the personal service of a hometown business with access to the products and resources of the Ace network.

Inside, you’ll find plenty for the next project on your list:

🪚 Lumber & building materials
🔧 Hardware & household tools
🌱 Lawn & garden supplies
🏡 Garden flags
🐦 Handmade birdhouses
📬 Mailbox covers
🌿 Sassafras mats
…and plenty more.

Whether you’re a contractor grabbing supplies for the jobsite, a homeowner tackling a weekend project, or someone who walked in for one thing and somehow left with five — Aynor Building Supply has been helping our community get it done for 50 years.

50 Years Is Worth Celebrating

A lot can change in half a century, but there’s something special about a hometown business that continues from one generation to the next.

1976 → 2026

That’s 50 years of opening the doors.
50 years of serving customers.
50 years of family.
And 50 years of being part of Aynor.

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate this milestone with Chamber member Aynor Building Supply and recognize the Johnson family for continuing the legacy Kenny and Patsy started together 50 years ago.

Congratulations, Aynor Building Supply, on 50 years! Here’s to the family, the legacy, and everything still left to build.

ryan graham aynor council meeting

A New Idea Could Be Coming to 8th Avenue

Imagine driving down 8th Avenue and looking up to see what’s happening next in Aynor.

That’s the idea the Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce brought before the Town of Aynor Council at its August 27, 2026 meeting.

Chamber Secretary Ryan Graham presented a proposal to install poles that would make it possible to hang event banners across 8th Avenue, creating a highly visible place to promote what’s happening in our community.

From Chamber events to Town celebrations and other community happenings, the goal is simple: make it easier for everyone to know what’s happening in Aynor.

Chamber representatives Crystal Suggs and Paulette Johnson also attended the meeting, where the idea received a positive response from Council.

Now, the Chamber is ready to see where the idea can go.

The next step will be gathering more information, looking into what it will take to make the project happen, and exploring potential community partnerships. The Chamber will continue working with the Town and keeping Council informed as plans develop.

And this isn’t intended to be something the Chamber keeps for itself. If the project comes together, the goal is to ultimately turn the banner system over to the Town of Aynor to own and use for the community.

It may start with two poles and a banner across the street, but it could become one more way to make downtown feel connected to everything happening in Aynor.

We’re excited to see this idea take shape. Stay tuned.

Conway Chiropractic spotlight

Membership Spotlight: Conway Chiropractic Center

For more than five decades, Conway Chiropractic Center has been caring for patients in Conway and the surrounding communities, providing chiropractic care, massage therapy, and other services focused on mobility, comfort, and overall wellness.

Today, the practice is led by Dr. Lee Kelley, but chiropractic care has been part of his family for generations.

A Family Tradition in Chiropractic Care

Dr. Kelley grew up right here in Conway in a family of chiropractors. His father was a chiropractor, along with other members of his extended family, giving him an early introduction to the profession and the impact chiropractic care could have on patients.

After completing his prerequisites at Coastal Carolina College, Dr. Kelley attended Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. He returned home to South Carolina in 1990 and began practicing alongside his father. When his father retired seven years later, Dr. Kelley continued the family tradition at Conway Chiropractic Center.

More Than Chiropractic Adjustments

Conway Chiropractic Center offers several services based on each patient’s individual needs, including chiropractic care, therapeutic massage, and non-surgical spinal decompression.

Their non-surgical spinal decompression is offered as a non-invasive treatment option for certain spinal disc conditions. According to the practice, it may be used as part of care for conditions including:

      • Herniated or bulging discs
      • Sciatica
      • Pinched nerves
      • Degenerative disc disease
      • Leg pain
      • Radiating arm pain
      • Facet syndromes

New patients begin with a consultation and spinal evaluation, including a discussion of their health history and goals. X-rays may also be recommended when appropriate before an individualized care plan is developed.

A Team with Deep Roots

Another thing that stands out about Conway Chiropractic Center is the longevity of its team.

Several staff members have been with the practice for many years. Donna Holliday has worked with the center since 1988 and manages insurance coding and billing, while massage therapist and X-ray technician Trena Holden has been part of the practice since 2003. Other team members assist with scheduling, patient care, therapies, records, and daily office operations.

That kind of longevity fits well with a practice that has spent more than 50 years serving local families.

Serving Conway for Generations

While techniques and technology have changed over the decades, Conway Chiropractic Center continues to emphasize personalized care and taking the time to understand each patient’s needs.

From someone visiting a chiropractor for the first time to longtime patients returning for continued care, Dr. Kelley and his team work to provide an approachable and comfortable experience.

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to spotlight Conway Chiropractic Center and recognize another longtime local business serving families throughout our area.

dirty soda spotlight
Member Spotlight

Membership Spotlight: Dirty South Soda Co.

A little sweet, a little Southern, and definitely not your ordinary soda.

Dirty South Soda Co., owned by Lauren Graciolett, is a mobile soda bar serving creative drinks and sweet treats throughout Conway and the surrounding area. Their goal is simple: offer fun, flavorful refreshments in a clean, efficient, and family-friendly way.

So, What Exactly Is a Dirty Soda?

A dirty soda takes a traditional soft drink and gives it a makeover with flavored syrups, creams, and other add-ins. The result is a customized drink with combinations that go far beyond what you’ll find in a regular fountain soda.

Dirty South Soda Co.’s menu includes combinations built around Coke, Dr Pepper, Sprite, and other bases. Some of their signature drinks have names that fit the Southern theme, like Front Porch Classic — Coke with cherry, vanilla, and sweet cream — Southern Charm, made with Dr Pepper, vanilla, cherry, and cream, and Southern Splash, featuring Sprite, watermelon, and strawberry.

And that’s only the beginning.

Something for Just About Everyone

Dirty South Soda Co. offers several drink and treat options, including:

  • Dirty Sodas with different flavor and cream combinations
  • Refresher Drinks for a lighter, fruit-forward option
  • Energy Drinks with creative flavor combinations
  • Boba Drinks
  • Kids’ Drinks, including water-based flavored options
  • Pre-Wrapped Ice Cream Treats
  • Dirty Popcorn loaded with sweet toppings and flavor combinations

Their current menu even includes kid-friendly creations like the Little Mermaid Sipper, Little Unicorn Sipper, Wacky Watermelon, and Shark Attack.

A Mobile Soda Bar

One of the best parts about Dirty South Soda Co. is that they come to you.

Their mobile setup is available for festivals, community events, school functions, private parties, and other gatherings, giving event organizers something a little different from the traditional food or beverage truck.

Dirty South Soda Co. also posts its mobile unit locations so customers can find out where they’ll be serving next.

Whether you like something fruity, creamy, fizzy, sweet, or completely different, there’s plenty of room to find—or create—a favorite.

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to spotlight Dirty South Soda Co. and welcome another local mobile business bringing something fun to events throughout our area.
