The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Dunkin’ in Aynor, marking another exciting milestone for our growing community.

Access to quality behavioral health services is an important part of building a healthy community, and Rivertown Psychological Services, LLC provides a variety of specialized services designed to support individuals and families throughout our region.

Led by Dr. Brandon A. Campo, Rivertown Psychological Services offers neuropsychological evaluations, Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) Neurofeedback, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) consultations and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), as well as psychotherapy services provided by Joan N. McMahon, MA, LPC.

Specialized Behavioral Health Services

Rivertown Psychological Services provides several assessment and treatment options tailored to individual needs.

Neuropsychological Evaluations help assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning and can provide valuable information for treatment planning and support services.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Consultations and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) are available to help individuals, families, and organizations better understand and address behavioral concerns, including services related to Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Understanding Infra-Low Neurofeedback

One of the specialized services offered by Rivertown Psychological Services is Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) Neurofeedback, a non-invasive form of neurofeedback that focuses on very low-frequency brain activity associated with self-regulation.

Neurofeedback uses visual feedback embedded within movies and video-based activities to engage the brain’s natural regulatory processes. The approach is designed to support improved functioning and has been used with individuals experiencing challenges related to focus, sleep, mood regulation, emotional regulation, and attention.

Because neurofeedback does not rely on verbal processing, it may be an option for individuals who prefer alternative approaches to traditional talk-based therapies.

Unearthing a Piece of Aynor History

Coal Found in Aynor
Hardee Building Before

A Fresh Look for a Familiar Building

Anyone who has driven through downtown Aynor recently has likely noticed the beautifully renovated building across from Anderson Brothers Bank. The transformation was completed by Hardee Family Holdings, owned by brothers Trent and Craig Hardee, who purchased the property and gave the longtime downtown structure a fresh new look inside and out.

Their investment has breathed new life into a building that has been part of Aynor’s story for generations while helping preserve an important piece of the town’s character.

An Unexpected Discovery

During work on the property, an unexpected discovery was made beside the building—a large piece of coal buried in the ground.

While it may not seem significant at first glance, the find offered a glimpse into a different era of downtown Aynor and the people who worked there.

Remembering Western Auto

Many longtime residents will remember the building as the former Western Auto, operated by Duane Lewis and his parents. For years, the store served the community and was a familiar stop for local families.

Before modern heating systems became commonplace, businesses often relied on coal-burning stoves to stay warm during the winter months. The piece of coal discovered during the renovation likely dates back to that time and somehow remained buried beside the building for decades.

Connecting Past and Present

It’s a small discovery, but one that provides a tangible connection to everyday life in Aynor’s past. Long before central heating and modern conveniences, local business owners depended on simple methods to keep their stores comfortable for customers and employees.

Today, the building begins a new chapter while still carrying pieces of its history. The completed renovation has preserved an important part of downtown while preparing it for the future.

More Than a Building

As Aynor continues to grow, projects like this remind us of the value of preserving the places that tell our story. Sometimes history is found in old photographs. Sometimes it’s found in memories shared by longtime residents.

And sometimes, it’s found one shovel full of dirt at a time.

Aynor Farmers Market 2026
News

Why Are Hundreds of People Choosing the Farmers Market Over the Grocery Store?

On any given Saturday morning, shoppers have plenty of options. They can head to a big box store, order groceries online, or make a quick stop at the supermarket. Yet for the first two weeks of the Aynor Farmers Market, hundreds of people chose something different.

Yet during the first two weeks of the Aynor Farmers Market, hundreds of people chose something different.

They chose to buy tomatoes from the person who picked them.

They chose fresh-baked bread made by local bakers. They chose local honey, farm-fresh eggs, fresh flowers, handmade soaps, candles, woodworking, home décor, and products made by their neighbors.

And somewhere along the way, many of them discovered what Farmers Market shoppers have known for years:

You rarely leave with only what you came for.

A Strong Start to the Season

Since opening earlier this month, the Aynor Farmers Market has welcomed hundreds of visitors and featured nearly 30 vendors under the pavilion at Aynor Town Park.

Visitors have enjoyed everything from fresh produce and homemade baked goods to local honey, flowers, woodworking, candles, soaps, lotions, wreaths, home décor, fresh eggs, and more.

Each Saturday has brought a mix of shopping, conversation, and community that continues to grow with every market day.

More Than Just Shopping

But the market has become about more than what people buy.

“It’s been an amazing first two Saturdays,” said Paulette Johnson. “The Farmers Market is about more than buying produce. We wanted to create a fun Saturday morning experience with live music, local vendors, and activities that give people a reason to come to town, stay awhile, and support local businesses.”

That vision is helping turn the market into a weekly gathering place for residents and visitors alike.

Music, Activities, and Family Fun

Opening Day featured live gospel music from Willing Hearts, along with free face painting sponsored by HTC and barrel train rides that quickly became a favorite among children.

The second Saturday welcomed musician Dawn Holt and another strong turnout of shoppers and families enjoying the market atmosphere.

This Saturday, visitors can enjoy live music from Lucian Kovac while browsing vendors and supporting local businesses.

A Summer Tradition in the Making

The Aynor Farmers Market takes place every Saturday through August 22 from 8:00 a.m. until noon at Aynor Town Park.

Whether you’re shopping for fresh produce, searching for a unique gift, listening to live music, or simply looking for a great way to spend a Saturday morning, the market offers a little something for everyone.

Just don’t be surprised if you come for the tomatoes and leave with a wreath.

More Than a Training Facility: The Heart Behind Coastal Reps Sports Facility

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to join community members, athletes, coaches, friends, and family on June 11 for the official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Coastal Reps Sports Facility.

Located in Aynor, the new indoor training facility offers athletes a place to train, improve, and compete year-round regardless of weather conditions. Guests attending the celebration enjoyed facility tours, light refreshments, and the opportunity to learn more about this exciting new resource for local athletes and teams.

While the facility itself is impressive, the story behind Coastal Reps is what truly makes it special.

A Facility Built for Athletes

Coastal Reps Sports Facility was created to provide athletes with a professional training environment close to home.

The facility features:

    • Eight indoor training cages
    • Climate-controlled training space
    • Strength and conditioning equipment
    • Team and individual cage rentals
    • Monthly memberships
    • Dedicated workspace for parents
    • Member access from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM

For athletes looking to improve their skills and stay competitive year-round, Coastal Reps offers opportunities that previously required traveling outside the area.

The Inspiration Behind Coastal Reps

For co-owner Chad Daniels, Coastal Reps is much more than a business venture.

The idea began with his son, Brycen.

Brycen Daniels has faced challenges throughout his life that most people will never experience, yet he has never allowed those challenges to define him.

At just 3½ years old, Brycen was diagnosed with Multiple Hereditary Exostoses (MHE), a rare genetic condition that causes bone tumors to develop throughout the body.

Since that diagnosis, he has undergone 16 orthopedic surgeries, had more than 60 tumors removed, and endured more than 70 surgical procedures.

Through every challenge, one thing remained constant—his love for baseball.

Baseball Became More Than a Game

For Brycen, baseball has always been more than a sport.

A devoted fan of Coastal Carolina University baseball, he found motivation, hope, and encouragement through the game during some of life’s most difficult moments.

When facing another surgery or another recovery, baseball gave him something positive to focus on. It became a reminder to keep moving forward, stay determined, and never lose sight of his goals.

His passion for the sport inspired his father to think beyond the present and imagine a future where Brycen could remain connected to baseball for years to come.

Turning a Dream Into Reality

That vision eventually became Coastal Reps Sports Facility.

Chad Daniels partnered with Trent Hardee and Craig Hardee to create a place where athletes could train and develop their skills while also creating an opportunity for Brycen to remain involved in the sport he loves.

The long-term dream is for Brycen to one day take an active role in the facility’s future, allowing him to continue contributing to the baseball community that has meant so much to him throughout his life.

What began as a father’s desire to support his son has grown into a facility that will benefit countless athletes and families throughout our region.

A Future Filled With Possibilities

Brycen’s accomplishments extend far beyond athletics.

Despite years of surgeries and recovery, he graduated high school with Cum Laude honors and ranked in the top 30 percent of his class.

This fall, he will attend Coastal Carolina University to pursue a degree in Recreation and Sports Management, combining his passion for sports with his future career goals.

His story is a powerful reminder that challenges do not determine a person’s future. Character, determination, and perseverance do.

More Than a Business

As the ribbon was cut and guests explored the new facility, one thing became clear: Coastal Reps Sports Facility represents more than batting cages and training equipment.

It represents resilience.

It represents family.

It represents a father’s belief in his son.

And it represents the type of community investment that helps make Aynor a special place to live, work, and grow.

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce congratulates Chad Daniels, Trent Hardee, Craig Hardee, Brycen Daniels, and the entire Coastal Reps team on this exciting milestone. We are honored to welcome Coastal Reps Sports Facility to our business community and look forward to watching its impact on local athletes for years to come.
