Ribbon Cutting Celebration: The Rock Church Opens “This Gen Venue” in Downtown Aynor

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to celebrate another step forward in community growth with the official ribbon cutting of  The Rock Church’s new “This Gen Venue” on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 6:00 PM.

The event will take place at 513 8th Avenue in downtown Aynor, and the public is warmly invited to attend.

The This Gen Venue represents a major milestone for the Aynor Campus of The Rock Church. The newly renovated, 6,000-square-foot facility is dedicated to serving students and families across the community. The name “This Gen”—short for This Generation—reflects the church’s belief that today’s students are not simply the future of the church, but an essential and active part of it right now.

“I grew up in this community and have many great memories of hanging out in downtown Aynor with my friends,” said Scott Johnson, Aynor Campus Pastor of The Rock Church. “Having this space downtown is a huge asset to the community and for ministry—it’s helping bring life back to our town.”

The This Gen Venue will serve as a dynamic, multi-use environment designed to connect students and families through faith, learning, and community. On Sundays, the space hosts The Rock’s elementary ministry (grades 1–5). On Wednesday evenings, it transforms into a hub for high school students, and on Thursdays, middle schoolers gather for worship, teaching, and small group discussions.

“This venue has produced some radical ownership among our students,” shared Garrett Huggins, This Gen Assistant at The Rock Church Aynor Campus. “It’s their place to bring friends, experience community, and live out their faith among their peers.”

The opening of This Gen Venue comes during an exciting period of growth for The Rock Church’s Aynor Campus. Since launching, the campus has quickly become a vibrant part of the community, offering opportunities for connection, service, and personal growth. This expansion allows the church to reach more students and families while contributing to the vitality of Aynor’s historic downtown corridor.

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to support this milestone and encourages residents, families, and business owners to attend the ribbon cutting celebration. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the new facility, meet members of The Rock Church team, and enjoy light refreshments.
