Stormwater Project

      • DRG, the engineering firm that developed the Town’s stormwater phasing plan, shared its last correspondence from February 2024
      • The Town now has a clearer understanding of completed phases and upcoming work

Levister Center

      • The Town is preparing to move forward with a design/build or preliminary design bid process
      • An update was received the day of the meeting
      • Councilwoman Lori A. Beatty is leading this effort

Zoning Ordinance Update

Second Reading Approved to modernize the Light Industrial Zoning Ordinance, aligning it with current needs and future growth.

Annexation & Zoning Map Amendment

      • Second Reading Approved for annexing and zoning PIN #23508030019 as B-2
      • The property is located between SunHouse and the Post Office

Town Projects & Services

Pressure Washing

    • Three quotes were received
    • The contract was awarded to Ward’s Landscaping as the lowest bidder
    • Work will cover 8th Avenue from Elm Street to Oak Street (both sides)

Street Sweeping

The Town is working with Horry County to explore pricing for increasing street sweeping to six times per year.


Moving Aynor Forward

From infrastructure planning to business-friendly ordinances and community engagement opportunities, the April meeting highlighted continued progress across multiple areas.

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce encourages residents and business owners to stay involved and attend upcoming meetings and events to remain informed and engaged.

Town of Aynor Adopts New Food Truck Ordinance

The Town of Aynor has officially adopted a new Food Truck Ordinance, creating a clear framework to welcome mobile food vendors while supporting local business growth and ensuring public health and safety.

This marks an exciting step forward for Aynor’s business community, opening the door for new dining options, partnerships, and event opportunities across our Little Golden Town.

What You Need to Know

The newly adopted ordinance includes:

  • Food trucks are now permitted with an annual $500 license (May–April)
  • Vendors must have proper health permits, insurance, and (if applicable) property owner approval
  • Operation is allowed on private property (with consent) and designated public areas
  • Approved operating hours are 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM, with extended hours possible for approved events
  • Trucks must follow location guidelines, including distance from restaurants and traffic safety rules
  • A monthly hospitality fee (1%) applies
  • Special events are welcome with additional approval and applicable fees

Supporting Business Growth in Aynor

This ordinance creates new opportunities for food vendors and local businesses to collaborate while maintaining standards that protect the community and existing establishments.

Town of Aynor Special Election Set for March 31, 2026

The Town of Aynor will hold a Special Election on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, to fill one (1) vacant seat on Town Council.

This election is nonpartisan, meaning candidates are not running under political party affiliations. All candidate applications have been officially filed and the ballot is now set.

Candidates for Town Council

Voters will choose between the following candidates:

    • Andrew Brown

    • Wyatt McCrackin

Both candidates have completed the filing process and will appear on the March 31 ballot.

What This Means for Our Community

Town Council members play an important role in shaping local policies, guiding growth, supporting infrastructure decisions, and representing the interests of residents and businesses throughout Aynor. This special election provides voters the opportunity to help determine the direction of leadership for our community.

The Town of Aynor will hold a Special Election on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, to fill ONE Town Council seat. This is a nonpartisan election.

Filing from Friday, January 9, 2026, at noon and closes Friday, January 30, 2026, at noon.

    • File in person at Town Hall: 600 S Main St., Aynor.
    • Requirements: At least 18, registered voter, town resident for 30+ days.
    • Filing fee: $35 for Council.
    • Business hours: Mon-Fri, 8 AM–5 PM (walk-ins welcome or schedule an appointment).
    • Bring: Driver’s license (current address), voter registration card, & fee.
    • Complete Statement of Candidacy & Candidate’s Roster on-site.
    • Also required: File Statement of Economic Interest & Campaign Disclosure electronically with the SC State Ethics Commission by deadlines → https://ethics.sc.gov/

What a magical evening it was in Aynor! The Annual Aynor Christmas Parade, proudly hosted by the Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce, brought our community together on Saturday, December 6th for an unforgettable celebration of the holiday season.

From the first float to the last, the streets of Aynor were filled with music, laughter, lights, and festive cheer. Families, friends, and neighbors lined the parade route to wave, cheer, and welcome Santa Claus himself, spreading smiles and holiday spirit throughout the town. 🎅✨

🌟 Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce Hosts Meet the Candidates Night!

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted a Meet the Candidates event for those running for Aynor Town Council. This was the first meet-and-greet in many years, and the energy in the room was electric!

Our fantastic MC, Ryan Graham, kicked things off with a warm introduction, followed by thoughtful questions curated by the Chamber. Then, we opened the floor for attendees to ask their burning questions directly to the candidates. It was a lively, engaging discussion that showcased the passion and vision for Aynor’s future!

The Aynor Area Chamber of Commerce is BACK and buzzing with new energy! We’re committed to helping our community thrive, and we need YOU to get involved! 💪 Whether it’s joining the Chamber, attending events, or sharing your ideas, let’s work together to make Aynor shine even brighter.

Town of Aynor Election Dates

Town of Aynor – Upcoming Election Information

This year’s election will include two council seats and the Mayor’s seat.​

If you reside in the Town of Aynor and are interested in pursuing local office, now is your opportunity!

Important Election Dates

September 5, 2025 – Candidate Filing Deadline

All candidates for the offices of Mayor and Council must file with the Municipal Election Commission by this date.

October 3, 2025 – Candidate Certification

The Municipal Clerk will certify the official list of candidates to the Municipal Election Commission.

November 4, 2025 – Election Day

Voting will take place at Aynor Town Hall. One clerk and four workers are required to assist with the election process.

November 18, 2025 – Runoff Election (if needed)

If no candidate secures the required majority, a runoff election will be held two weeks after the initial election date.

The Aynor Chamber of Commerce would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Town of Aynor, including the Town Council and town staff, for taking the time to engage with our community during Saturday’s Coffee with Council event on July 26th.

We’re especially grateful for the thoughtful discussion on key topics like bringing new businesses to town, promoting and beautifying the downtown area, lighting and parking improvements, property maintenance concerns, food truck vendor licensing, and the exciting Levister Community Center project.

Several Aynor Chamber Board members and a few of our Chamber members were also in attendance—each offering valuable insights and feedback that reflect the voice of our local business community.

A special thank you to Board of Education Representative Darrell Ricketts for joining us and contributing to the conversation.

We are proud to represent the Aynor business community through grassroots advocacy efforts like this, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations in the months ahead.
